How we rank and score products

Every Shopazonic guide uses the same method, so you can see exactly why a product is listed where it is.

The ranking: what Canadians actually buy

Products are listed in the order of the Amazon.ca Best Sellers list for their category, and each guide shows the date we checked it. We only include products that were in stock on Amazon.ca at that time and leave out items that do not belong in the category, such as accessories.

We never reorder the list, and no brand can pay for a better position.

The spec score: out of 10

Popularity alone does not tell you what you get for your money, so every product also gets a spec score out of 10. It is based on published specifications, not a hands-on test.

  • Each guide scores five criteria that matter for that category, each worth up to 2 points.
  • The exact criteria and points are listed in the "How we rank and score" section at the bottom of every guide.
  • The product with the highest score gets a "Best specs" badge, even when it is not the best seller.

Prices

Prices come from Amazon.ca, are shown in Canadian dollars and are refreshed regularly. They can change at any time, so always check the final price on Amazon.ca before you buy.

How we make money

As an Amazon Associate, Shopazonic earns from qualifying purchases made through our links, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never affect the order or the scores: the order comes from Amazon.ca Best Sellers and the score from published specifications.
